Takayna,

The Heart of Lutruwita

Come join us for a night of trees, tales, and trails, in partnership with the Bob Brown Foundation and in the lead up to Takayna Trail. The night will celebrate two powerful new works: Takayna, the Heart of Lutruwita, a new film by Matt Newton, and Takayna, One of the Last Wild Places on Earth, a new book by Australian Geographic.

Special guests include Beau Miles as MC, renowned award-winning filmmaker, poly-jobist, speaker, writer, and oddball; Jenny Weber, long term Campaign Director for the Bob Brown Foundation; and Majell Backhausen, Race Director for Takayna Trail.

A conversation panel will follow the film; Jenny Weber will speak to the Bob Brown Foundation’s ongoing fight to protect our native forests, particularly the globally significant Takayna/Tarkine in northwestern Lutruwita/Tasmania. Majell Backhausen will unpack the Takayna Trail event, boosting stoke for those participating this year and explaining how to get involved for 2026. Raffle tickets will be available to purchase, with all proceeds going to the Bob Brown Foundation.

Doors open at 6:30, refreshments provided.

This event will take place on Wurundjeri Country. Patagonia acknowledges the Kulin Nation as the Traditional Custodians of this Country. We pay our respect to their elders, past, present and future.
